We take care at every step of production to minimise environmental impact, resulting in a blanket that not only keeps you warm, but also respects the environment.
Whether you choose a thick wool blanket for a chilly night, a cotton plaid for cooler days or a yoga blanket for your relaxation sessions, the materials of our thick blankets are selected to withstand constant use without losing their shape or softness.
Care and maintenance of your blanket
Our blankets are designed to last, and with proper maintenance, you can extend their lifespan and enjoy their comfort for many years to come.
It is recommended that you wash your blankets in cold water on a gentle cycle to maintain the softness of the fibres and prevent wear and tear.
If you want your blanket to retain its fluffy appearance and characteristic softness, avoid using harsh chemicals and ironing.
With proper care, your blankets will remain as cosy and warm as they were on day one, and you can enjoy their softness without worrying about wear and tear.
What is the warmest blanket?
There are a number of factors that determine how warm a blanket is. The main considerations are material, composition, thickness and weight.
In terms of material and composition, blankets made of wool offer great protection against the cold and have a high capacity to retain moisture. Synthetic and polyester fibres are also an excellent choice for retaining heat due to their high thermal insulation capacity. Cotton, being a very breathable and lightweight material, can also be an excellent choice in thicker and heavier weave versions.
Mixed material compositions that combine the best properties of different fibres are also an excellent option. With the combination of cotton and polyester we obtain a thick, light, extra soft and warm blanket. If we combine wool with polyester we obtain a blanket with a similar warmth capacity to the previous one but with a lower thickness and grammage.
Our recommendation is that you choose your blanket according to your personal preferences in terms of weight, softness, thickness and composition.
How do you know if a blanket is of good quality?
A good quality fleece blanket can be recognised by both its material and its construction. The best blankets are made of strong textile fibres. In addition, a good blanket should be soft to the touch, warm and comfortable, have well-finished seams and, above all, maintain its shape and softness through wear and tear and the washing process.
Are thicker blankets warmer?
In general, thicker blankets tend to be warmer than a thinner blanket, especially if they are made of materials such as wool or high density fibres. The thickness and type of fabric contribute to heat retention, making a thick blanket ideal for winter.
In our collection, you will find blankets designed to provide warmth without sacrificing softness and style.
What is the weight of a blanket?
The grammage of a blanket refers to the weight of the fabric in grams per square metre (g/m²) and is an indicator of the density and thickness of the blanket. A high grammage means that the blanket is thicker and usually warmer, while a low grammage indicates a lighter blanket.
The grammage of a thin blanket is approximately 250 gr/m² and that of a thick bed blanket can be more than 650 gr/m².
Why is it good to sleep weighted?
Weighted blankets will not only keep you warm in winter, but also offer additional benefits for your health and well-being. Studies show that sleeping with a weighted blanket can reduce stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality. The weight of the blanket generates a gentle pressure that can stimulate the nervous system, helping to calm the body and provide a sense of security and comfort.
